I was just thinking of how much programming we are exposed to if we have a t.v.
I hear messages of not being safe in the home because of falling or break-ins, or using the wrong products or not using the right products. Not being safe in the street unless using a certain product, My car isn't safe unless I purchase certain products, My children, and my neighborhood are not safe. The air I breathe and the food I consume may not be safe. A constant flow of negative programming streaming in from the media to support the financial needs of those that keep the media thriving. In my work, I have come across so many people who are afraid to break the "rules" of society that they choose to believe and although the only outcome may be their neighbors or community may not approve they are fearful. They are in dread that someone may find out their children have done something that the community may scorn them for.

This fear-based society that we live in presents a huge problem for us as individuals. When we don't monitor the programs our children are watching they may become a victim of this fear-based programming. We ourselves are victims because if we watch t.v. for even an hour a day we are exposed to it. How often have you gone out looking for a certain product because you saw it on t.v. or heard it could help you in some way have a better life. How often have you spent money on something that proved worthless in the end? Maybe you decide to have a healthier lifestyle and invest in a high-end juicer, and supplements or some other electrical gadget to make life easier that sits in a cupboard somewhere in your home. Hmmm sounds familiar to me.

I believe that the biggest problem is that so many of us do not realize that we have bitten into the whims of the media, that we have become pawns to the needs of this fear-based life we are living. When we internalize fear it manifests itself as dysease within the body. I believe that many of the chronic illness we are experiencing in society is a by-product of fear based thinking. I also think that the "attitude" of our children is being influenced by the violent online games they become addicted to and the imaging of the glamorous people in the media. Even reality tv is damaging as it depicts a small percentage of lifestyles of a small group. We still bite into it and although it is mostly staged how many of us believe it to be real.

So what is real? Well, that's easy, your life is reality and tv and what the media offers is an escape from your reality. You make your reality what it is based on what you choose to believe and thereby attract into your space. Your self-talk (all those crazy thoughts you might ignore) is the mechanics that create the energy you attract into your life. Yes, all that background underlying stuff does affect your life and what happens in it. If you really want to change your mind then listen carefully to those thoughts and turn them around. Don't let your made up fears rule your world and what you believe your reality to be.

Imagine a world made up of your deepest desires and passions without the fear attached to it. The fear of success or failure, the fear of being noticed, the fear of being different, the fear of being broke or not having enough. We each have our own sack of stuff that we make excuses around that are our own fears. What if for one hour a day we picked one fear and turned it around, wrapped it in positive thoughts and saw them for what they really are. We change our mind about who we are in relation to what we are fearing. We take charge of our fears and move through them one at a time and as often as we need. Just one hour away from the tv or phone or computer unless we need to write or use some creative method of dealing with the fears. My outlet is writing. What could yours be?

Being The Goddess Within

Lately I have been approached by different folk from different walks of life concerning the work that I am involved in, mainly my connection with the Goddess. The articles that I recently wrote on “Aphrodite- The Temple of Love – Our Sacred Space” is just my opinion based somewhat on what I have learned through reading, research, listening and working with many Womyn in this area.

The previous blog post on Aphrodite covered just one aspect of the personality of that particular Goddess. I have decided to break down each of the Greek Goddess personalities into categories such as: the Mother/daughter relationship (in the home), environment (out in the world), Profession (complimentary careers), Partners (marriage and unions), the Inner Goddess (the pros and cons of the personality).

I believe that in our search to understand ourselves we may become too attached to one aspect of who we are and may find it difficult to move out of our skin and deal with other areas of our lives. Womyn in her wholeness embraces all aspects of the Goddess as she goes within and grows and accepts who she is. I believe we embrace the different aspects as we deal with what life puts before us.

I also believe that as we allow our creative nature to grow and express ourselves unconsciously we also embrace our deeper inner needs. When this occurs we also let go of the fear of who we are as we become less attached to the ego self and more in tune to our inner needs and desires.

Working with the Goddess is natural and comfortable for me. I feel blessed to be able to connect energetically with this flow of knowledge and wisdom. As I write and channel this information I invite you to join me and continue to send me messages and comments. I am blessed to attract such amazing people into my circle of life.
Blessings

The Temple of Love – Our Sacred Space - Aphrodite: Golden Goddess of Love – The Goddess among all people

We all possess some of the qualities of the five Greek Goddesses. At this time I am embracing more of Aphrodite than I have in years. In my maturity and in alignment with the work that I continually do with my five lower bodies (mental, emotional, physical, psychic and spiritual) I am experiencing her much differently.

I am aware of feeling very intimate with myself because I accept who I am more unconditionally. I have been working on a proposal for a radio show I was offered to do and it had me tapping into my comfortable place and pushing deeper into my truth to honesty answer the questions presented.

To fully understand these feelings one must go back to a time when Aphrodite was honored and revered as the Goddess of Love in the temples of ancient times. The temples trained young woman in the pleasure of love and loving. An acolyte had to learn how to look and feel good about herself as a Womyn. She was taught to pay attention to the needs of men to pleasure them and to teach them how to pleasure Womyn. There was ritual and ceremony involved and sex was a sacred union in the Temple.

The Temples were a place of respite for weary travelers and for those who were looking for the sacredness of sexuality. The acolytes were also considered to be teachers and well versed in their fields. Any children birthed in the temples were considered to be the son of God and it was the Temples responsibility to raise them.

Over the past 40 years I have read and researched and absorbed a lot of information around the discovery of the image of the Goddess and anything associated with it. What I have written here comes from that sacred space deep within me that I am connecting with. If you want proof of any of this then you will have to find it for yourself or within yourself. This is what I believe to be true.

I believe that if we taught our children about the sacredness of our Temple, the sacredness of our sexuality it would help them ease a little more through those difficult times of self discovery. I think this would give them a reference point to connect to when they begin to explore. Personally I know that when I consider the value of who I am I tend to make better choices for me and I am less influenced by outside forces.

Find your sacred space within you and dare to feel nurtured and loved and cared for. Encourage yourself to be comfortable in your skin, in your environment, your community, your Universe. Honour your Temple and be love.

How comfortable are you

Greetings all and the best to you for the New Year. I have been absent since June of last year, I felt I had to reevaluate the time I was spending on the web. I am back with a new attitude and a new sense of well being.

One doesn't discover new lands without consenting to lose sight, for a very long time, of the shore.
AndrĂ© Paul Gide (22 November 1869 – 19 February 1951) was a French author and winner of the Nobel Prize in literature in 1947

This quote expresses just where I am at and how I have been feeling for the past few months. I am consciously moving out of my comfort zone; and this opens me up to a new life, a new way of being. I recognize just how hard I have been working to create a safety net around myself just to be comfortable. The more I move out of my comfort zone, the more at peace, at home I feel within myself. I am recognizing that by worrying about how things will turn out is most often worst than the actual outcome. So I choose to move away from the shore with only the greatest of expectations and therefore I am discovering the new life that begins at the end of my comfort zones. I am becoming a pioneer in my life as I venture into those unknown areas that I used to hold in fear of entering, of living to the fullest. There is a feeling of excitement in living that I never experienced before. I also feel that I am now able to do what is best for me rather than doing what I feel that I should do because it is the right thing to do. I truly understand the concept of living life through my passions and by adding gratitude to the formula, I am provided with all the comfort I require plus more.
